A tennis spotlight award from the AJCC in 1992. At the time, I dreamed of being a New York native, so I told the tennis director I was born in Brooklyn.

The first article I've ever been in (excluding birth notice), my best friend Brett and I win tennis recognition

Former Braves second baseman Mark Lemke and I hanging at Sandy Springs Middle School in eighth grade:

I won a poetry contest in eighth grade -- I wrote a poem on baseball and another on my dad, I think -- and had to read them in front of the school and then got to hang with one of my heroes, Braves second baseman and World Series monster Mark Lemke

Later that year, my first school dance (and date):

At the eighth grade dance, I think the theme was "Starry Night" or something, with Julianne and company. I had gone on dates before, but this was my first "real" one where I dressed up and picked up my date and got really nervous.
